I’ve never been abroad, so I have nothing to compare it to, but I think it’s a pretty good place to live. My city is pretty big – over one million people live here – and it’s a university city as well, so it’s always got a good atmosphere.
It has all the things that a big city needs – it’s got good transport links, there are plenty of shopping centres and restaurants, and it’s easily accessible from other parts of the country.
The town centre, and the area that I live, are quite safe, and it’s a really multicultural place – not only university students, but people from hundreds of different countries come here to live and work. Lots of them open up small shops and restaurants, so you can get food from all over the world in my city.
As well as all the nightlife and restaurants, there are lots of parks – it’s a really green city – and lots of sports and leisure facilities, so it’s a nice place for families too.
You can get a car, or drive into the city, but one of the best things about my city is the public transport. There’s a tram (light rail system) that runs through the middle of the city, so it’s really easy to get to the centre no matter where you live. A lot of people in my city don’t even bother owning a car, because it’s so easy to get everywhere on public transport, and it’s very reliable – the buses and trains always run to schedule.
That’s all I can think of, but if you asked me again, more might spring to mind! To me it’s home, so I hardly ever think about how good or bad it is.
